Admission Process
Admissions to the MA in Linguistic Studies take place annually as per a specific Public Call.
The admission process consists of four stages, namely:
1. First, eliminatory stage: on-site proficiency test in a foreign language (Spanish, French, English for Brazilians, or Portuguese for foreign candidates). Candidates can alternatively provide a Certificate of Proficiency issued by a Brazilian higher education institution recognized by the Ministry of Education, including the certificate issued by the UFG/RC Language Center;
2. Second, eliminatory stage: on-site written test addressing specific knowledge;
3. Third, eliminatory stage: on-site oral examination of the research project by an examining board including members of the Program Coordination Board and, generally, the intended supervisors;{
4. Fourth, classificatory stage: curriculum analysis (via Lattes Platform).
The aim is to screen students building on specific criteria targeting the best performances in each stage. As per Resolution CONSUNI 07/2015, PPGEL adopts a system of quotas for self-declared black, brown-skinned and indigenous candidates.
